Choosing Adventure, Connection, and Reflection
I just returned from the UK, where I attended an event hosted by a friend I first met three years ago at a conference. On paper, it was a quick trip to support a friend. But in reality, it became so much more: a chance to embrace adventure, deepen relationships, and create space to reflect on what I truly want to offer as part of my coaching journey.
In many ways, this trip embodied my vision:
A world where quieting self-doubt builds self-trust, self-trust sparks confidence, confidence strengthens resilience, resilience nurtures connection, and connection reminds us we are never alone.
Traveling solo allowed me to live this vision in action. When I’m with others, my natural people-pleasing tendencies tend to make me more of a passenger along for the ride. But on my own, I had to decide what I wanted, where I was going, and how I was going to get there. That included navigating tricky situations—like landing in London on the same day as the largest demonstration I’ve ever seen, complete with helicopters, media crews, police, and thousands of people. It was overwhelming, but it pushed me to deepen my self-trust and prove to myself that I am capable.
I’ve always valued alone time, yet I am deeply concerned with people feeling lonely. It struck me: what is at the core of loneliness? To me, it’s the depth of our relationships with others. How much do we truly connect in our encounters? And how do we deepen our relationship with ourselves first, so we can have meaningful relationships with others? This is exactly what I focus on in my coaching: helping people reconnect with their inner voice, quiet self-doubt, build self-trust, and cultivate the confidence and resilience needed to truly connect.
And with that, I’m excited to share that this post marks the beginning of a monthly newsletter from me. My hope is that these reflections spark something in you—and serve as a gentle reminder that, no matter where you are in your own journey, you are never alone.
I’d love to hear from you:
What adventures have stretched you lately?
